About The Society

Dr Mahendra Parikh, Founder President of ISAR felt the need of and mooted the idea of forming an Indian Society for promoting Assisted Reproduction. Accordingly he called a historic meeting on Saturday the 16th of February 1991 at 6 pm at AREX Hall, IMA Building, Mumbai 400049.

It was formed to help poor & needy infertile couples and bring a smile & happiness in their lives.

It has been over 25 years since the society was formed. Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction is a dedicated organization organizing many educational activities in the field of Assisted Reproduction.

ISAR has at present a membership strength of 4110 members from all over India.

ISAR is a multi specialty association. We have IVF & ART Specialists, Gynaecologists, Embryologists, ART Technologists, Counselors & para medical staff.

In 2018 we made a constitutional amendment that ISAR will bring together medical personnel, allied scientists, organisations, philanthropists and institutions interested in various aspects of Assisted Reproduction for helping infertile couples and for developing newer and more efficient technologies for ART, family welfare and other aspects of Reproductive Medicine which includes but not necessarily limited to Contraception, Endocrinology, Menopause, Andrology, Reproductive Genetics, Reproductive Surgery, Psychology & Counselling, Stem Cell Therapy, Fertility Preservation and Ethics & Law.

IVF & ART is a boon for all. The main aim of ISAR as a society is to spread knowledge on advancements in the field of ART & IVF and help the common people with the new technologies which will enable us for the betterment of the society.

Even during the pandemic of Covid-19 we had many online webinars, online conferences etc. for members and were constantly spreading knowledge through virtual events.
